New MF records at Bancroft sale

We knew it was going to be big and it certainly lived up to its expectations! The second of Alan Bancroft’s dispersal saw original and clean MF tractors go under the hammer, with record prices along the way.

Held near Skipton, North Yorkshire, on 7 May, a large crowd was present as well as numerous online bidders. Everything sold, and although all but two tractors were subject to VAT, bidders were not put off – with impressive prices achieved throughout the sale.

The traditional auction bell rang at 10am, with Bill King and Oliver Godfrey of Cheffins taking it in turns to sell the various items. One of the first items to cause a stir was a Ferguson mounted two-furrow plough with slatted mouldboards, discs and skimmers. This implement was in very good condition and the bidding reflected that fact when it reached a selling price of £3,500!
