Open to the Elements

‘We played with the sun, the rain, the shadows,’ says Mee Na Wong, describing her design for the garden of this home in Singapore’s Bukit Timah neighbourhood. In the courtyard, plants bear large and varied leaves, so when the rain pours and water droplets beat down on the philodendron and the spider lily, palms and the rattle shaker, the foliage and ground become a lush soundscape.
