THE BIG TEST Fly rugs

MANY HORSE OWNERS use a fly rug during the warmer months of the year to offer protection from biting midges and flies, while also helping to keep him comfortable, cool and protect his coat from sun damage. These lightweight rugs are usually made from a close-knit mesh material that’s lightweight and provides a protective barrier from pesky bugs. Some also come with a showerproof upper panel for those unpredictable days.

Our testing team has been using a selection of fly rugs available for the last three months. Each one has been assessed for fit, effectiveness and value for money. Find out which ones their recommend.
