Astrology for The New Age
Let’s talk about pandemics for just a minute. As I write this in late January in (at last) snow-covered Colorado (a fine state that finds itself in the midst of a long drought) various government spokespeople have suggested that the Omicron variation of the COVID virus has peaked and begun to dissipate. From an astrological point of view, this makes sense, as Saturn at 14 Aquarius has moved more than 15 degrees ahead of Pluto at 26 Capricorn, a span of 18 degrees.
I have taken the 15-degree figure from Richard Tarnas’ Mr. Tarnas suggests that the most intense manifestations of a planetary aspect between outer planets, particularly the conjunction, will take place when the aspect remains within a 15 degree orb. My observations concur with this, with evidence from the present pandemic seeming to corroborate that orb. By September 1, about the time this issue of floods the newsstands and ends up in the hands of its millions of readers, Saturn will have reached 20 Aquarius, moving in retrograde motion toward a station at 18 Aquarius on October 23, while Pluto is again at 26 Capricorn, leaving a span of 22 degrees. Because Saturn, the faster-moving planet of the pair, won’t retreat any farther than 18 Aquarius for another 28 years
