WHAT’S THE CAUSE?
When hair accumulates electrons from friction, the strands repel each other and stand on end. Dry, damaged hair is more prone to static while wearing hats also adds to the friction. It tends to happen more in the colder months when there is less humidity in the air.
WHAT TO DO
Work with products that lock in moisture. Use a hydrating shampoo and conditioner to keep your hair in good condition. Leave-in conditioners and hair oils are also terrific for boosting hydration, as is a weekly intensive mask. Also skip the towel –
