Bradley Cooper HOW I WAS SAVED
Just one moment is all it took to send Bradley Cooper into a near-deadly substance abuse spiral, and it took one very special person to pull him out of it.
“No girl wanted to look at me”
- COOPER
Cooper revealed the shocking – and surprisingpodcast. “I was so lost and I was addicted to cocaine,” the clean-cut star told the trio, admitting that his life took a wrong turn after he was sidelined from Jennifer Garner’s hit series, . He played Will Tippin, the best friend of Garner’s Sydney Bristow, for two seasons from 2001 to 2003, before he was dropped. Making matters worse, his redundancy coincided with him severing his Achilles tendon –a debilitating and painful injury that quite literally took the spring out of his step. “I definitely did feel, moving to Los Angeles for , like I was back in high school. I couldn’t get into any clubs, no girl wanted to look at me … I was totally depressed,” he told Arnett, Bateman and Hayes. Now, the star sees the timing of things as a positive. “I did have the benefit of that happening when I was 29,” he said. “I thought I’d made it when I got a Wendy’s commercial. I called my dad, saying, ‘I’m in a hotel that has a window that opens.’ In terms of the ‘made-it’ thing, that’s when I made it.”
