For Hamish and Ngaire, creating a layout that encouraged a sense of connection was vital in the home they built for themselves and their increasingly independent children, Mason, 17, and Amelia, 20. “We didn’t want a home where our children would just disappear to another wing of the house,” says Ngaire. “We like our family around us, we welcome their friends and we als0 love to entertain our own friends.”
