A new year commences

I’m really looking forward to Matariki coming into our world view this year. Aotearoa celebrates a new public holiday, which for a self-employed farmer doesn’t mean too much in terms of having a “day off”, but it does give rise to a sense of quiet around the country, which is always nice. Matariki is the time to bring out the thermals, the hats and gloves, and spend the days feeding animals with the harvests of the spring. Matariki this year will herald
