Some of the juicier local rides include the Scottsdale Loop to the north-east (a favourite training ride of Richie Porte), Poatina to the south (frequently used in the Tour of Tasmania) and Ben Lomond National Park to the south-east, home to the spectacular Jacobs Ladder.
