David Bennett

“IN all honesty, it comes down to surviving on a constant lack of sleep, ” reveals showman David Bennett, when asked how he manages to juggle a full-time career as a paramedic with running a yard of show horses competing at championship level.

David has been working in the NHS for 15 years, but horses have been a part of his life for even longer.

“I work shift patterns, ” he continues. “A day shift runs from 7.30am to 7.30pm, so I can do the horses in the evenings during summer. And when I work nights, I can ride if I get up in between shifts.”

David’s determination is impressive, but he credits his small, tight-knit team – including his sister Amy Bennett and Carr House Stud founder and owner Sharon Haworth – who are instrumental in keeping the cogs turning.
