SERVES 10 PREP + COOK TIME 1½ HOURS (+ REFRIGERATION TIME)

Prepare the brown butter for the cake ahead of time as you will need to chill it until it sets.

250g unsalted butter, chopped
2½ cups (375g) plain flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
