While we’ve seen many manufacturers switch to recycled packaging, Acer is leading the charge when it comes to the laptops themselves. We saw this with the consumer-targeted Aspire Vero (see issue 329, p48), and now Acer turns its attention to businesses with the Travelmate Vero.

The first question to ask is what makes the Vero “green”. The key ingredient is its post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials, with 30% of the chassis and 50% of the keycaps consisting of PCR plastic. That’s almost identical to the Aspire Vero, but where that was finished in a perky light green, the Travelmate is dressed in subdued black.
