Hickman smokes ’em

PETER HICKMAN (GAS Monkey FHO Racing BMW) cemented himself as Isle of Man TT specialist when he crossed the line of the Superbike TT (almost) 40 seconds clear of his rivals to kick off race week of the 2022 Isle of Man TT.

After a long three-year hiatus, and under mostly clear and sunny skies, riders took their time during the five days of qualifying to re-familiarise themselves with the 37.75-mile (60.75km) Mountain Course before taking off down Glencrutchery Road for the six-lap Superbike TT on Saturday 4 June.

And despite the week of practice in the lead up to the racing, at no point does a rider get to string together six strong laps.
