As a keen decoyer I am always on the lookout for those one-off situations whereby I can take advantage of the woodpigeon’s tendency to feed with his pals and, hopefully, shoot a decent bag.

You know what I am talking about. Fresh drillings are an obvious example where pigeon numbers build up quickly but the window of opportunity for a shoot is likely to be small. Stubble, often only providing food for a few days, is another example of the decoyer needing to have his wits about him if he is going to take full advantage
