Damon Smith, born in Perth, based in Melbourne but with his heart in New Orleans, has found time between film projects to present his new album, . Ensconced on his piano stool, Smith’s music is like a blend of Dr John and Randy Newman on these 11 tracks, with a little help from saxophonist Wilbur Wilde, jazz pianist Barney McAll, the horns of Melbourne’s Sugarfoot Ramblers and a whole lot more local musicians. ‘Midlife Clarity Blues’ is a short, whimsical blues-flavoured track, there’s nice guitar work on the comical is released on June 17.
