Beat the HEAT
Heatwaves don’t suit me. Aged 17, I was obsessed with St Tropez style, so one of my friends and I decided to go there on holiday. Well, nearly there. We actually stayed in a campsite up the road.
I wanted sun-kissed skin, but as a pale, rosy-cheeked Scot I didn’t do well in hotter climes. One day we went to a beach bar, and who should be there but my ultimate heart-throb at the time, David Essex. I was wearing a khaki army shirt over my Liberty print string bikini to cover up the heat rash that had spread all over. Top of the list of things you never want to do
