A fitting triumph for Otley legend Clegg, who is handing over the DoR role to Andy Rock, who will also become the coach mentor. Dench said: “We blew everyone away in early season but a late win against Sandal and a defeat at Blackburn put us under pressure to play better.” Otley won all 13 home matches, scoring 1,076 points, but were chased all the way by Preston Grasshoppers. The side even survived being stuck in a blizzard on the way to Kirkby Lonsdale, where they won 72-0. Joe Rowntree (221 points) and Elliot Morgan (19 tries) were top scorers.
