Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) claimed his second consecutive pole position at Le Mans in the qualifying session on Saturday. His teammate, Jack Miller, started the race in second place and Aprilia’s Aleix Espargaro, starting in third, completed the front row.

As the lights went out for the start of the seventh round, it was Miller who got the holeshot and took the lead. In the next few corners, Enea Bastianini, who had started in fifth, passed the riders ahead of him to put his Gresini Ducati into second place.
