MARINA LIFE BEMBRIDGE

e renovated in a boatyard on Hayling Island, so navigating the Solent to Bembridge was our first ‘crossing’ in her, working the tides and dodging super-tankers heading for Southampton. A quick glance at the chart shows that Bembridge, on the north-east corner of the Isle of Wight, is a perfect first stop from Chichester being a shallow-draught catamaran is that she floats in waist-deep water. So after a quick coffee at anchor in Priory Bay, the tide had risen sufficiently to give us enough water to safely pass over the bar without risking running aground.
