A CRACKING LITTLE MOTOR!
On pretty much almost any journey you make, even a local trip to the shops, and the chances are you’ll see a DAF CF. This popular little ‘Wendy house’ truck has been a common sight on our roads for nigh on three decades now in its many guises, be it an 85 series, an 85CF, CF85 or just plain CF.
In the 1970s, DAF’s long haul 2800, with its F241 cab, stood head and shoulders above the distribution 2300 model, with its similar, but smaller, F198 cab. The new Cabtec 95 series replaced the 2800 (and its later, and bigger 3300 and 3600 sisters) in 1987, but it was to be another five years before the smaller DAFs were replaced.
The 75/85 series
The old F198 cab dated from the late 1960s and was still used on the 1900, 2100, 2300 and 2700 models, but come the 1990s, it was in desperate need of replacement. DAF’s answer for
