It was 2013 and, aged 52, I’d received a phone call about an irregularity on my recent mammogram.
‘It doesn’t mean there’s anything to worry about. It just needs investigating,’ the doctor had said.
I was told to be at the hospital at 7.30am and, assuming I’d be in and out, I’d arranged
