SPARKLING WINES

93 Damiani 2014 Brut Méthode Champenoise (Finger Lakes). A blend of 77% Pinot Noir, 13% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Meunier, this traditional-method sparkler delivers intense aromas of toasted brioche, seared lemon, sea spray and salted white grapefruit. There’s tons of depth and complexity on the medium-bodied palate, where broad flavors of brûléed lemon, sherry-dipped nuts and saline sit atop creamy bubbles. Rich yet impeccably balanced, the wine is enjoyable now but should hold well through 2026. Editors’ Choice. —A.P.
