BLADES (1989)

Imagine Jaws (1975), but not set in the ocean – it’s on a golf course, and instead of a shark – there’s a killer lawnmower on the loose.

Nobody asked for this and yet, in 1989 Troma Entertainment, the world’s leading purveyor of so-bad-its-good movies presented us with Blades, a schlocky, grindhouse parody of Steven Spielberg’s bitey blockbuster.

The movie opens with some teenagers partying on the idyllic grounds of the Tall Grass Country Club. A lovestruck duo break off from the group for a roll in the fescue only to get chopped up in flagrante delicto.
