THE only thing I have in common with the greatest amateur huntsman of the postwar era, Capt Ronnie Wallace, is that we both hunted the Eton College Beagles – albeit 54 years apart. He went on to make a life out of it, I needed a lie-down after my half-season carrying the horn and blowing very few recognisable tunes on it.
