Standing up from my seat to get ready for a walk with my golden retrievers Ciera and Polly, I suddenly got a severe pain in my lower back.
‘I think you need to see a doctor about this,’ my husband Colman, 60, told me.
It was a warm August day in 2020 and I had been getting a horrible pain in my back whenever I stood up for a few weeks now.
I hope the cancer hasn’t come back, I worried.
In December 2013, I had been diagnosed with breast cancer and it had been the worst time of my life.
Colman and I were terrified – we didn’t know what was ahead and felt scared for my life.
