The plump-breasted birds are swaggering about like divas on a sunlit stage above the magnificent Bega River and they will not be silenced. “Can you go away?” Lindy is pleading. “Be quiet. Stop it. You’re just too demanding. Oh, please, go away …”

As one of Australia’s leading artistic directors, acknowledged internationally for her fresh interpretations of a wide variety of repertoires, Lindy is always open to hearing an original score. The cawing cacophony swells unchecked, pushes aside attempts at conversation, and she relents. Concedes defeat.
