Now that would be a bestseller!
There are many ways to lower stress. Exercising, deep breathing, listening to music are stress-reduction methods most of us are awaredefinitely counts. That made the team feel pretty good. But it also got us talking about that other popular form of reading – books! Sarah kicked off the discussion by revealing that reading for her book club actually stress. ‘Why?’ we all asked. ‘Because I usually leave the book to the last minute and rush to get it finished,’ she said. Lisa and I nodded. We’ve both been there when it comes to book clubs! Lisa’s mum, Val, is currently putting her to shame on the reading front. ‘She’s visiting from the UK and in just one month she’s worked her way through eight novels from my bookshelf,’ laughed Lisa. Claudia is very specific about the kind of story that grabs her attention. ‘I only love the suburban mum-gone-wrong type that Liane Moriarty writes,’ she told us. Beth is a voracious reader and has read some of her faves three times, while Darren’s reading has mostly been confined to children’s books with his daughter, Martha, seven. ‘She’s into fairy stories now, but used to love Peppa Pig,’ he said. ‘We even had one of those personalised Peppa Pig books made. It was called , but the alternative title would’ve been ,’ Darren laughed. Now that would be a bestseller!
