n celebration of the inaugural La Prairie Art Award, hosted a lunch at the Art Gallery of NSW in the presence of recipient(2022). The event began with an in conversation between the Melbourne-based artist, editor-in-chief Edwina McCann and Art Gallery of New South Wales (AGNSW) senior curator of Australian contemporary art Isobel Parker Philip, followed by lunch. The Ethiopian-born, South Sudanese artist is the first recipient of the acquisitive award championing the work of female artists presented by La Prairie and the AGNSW. La Prairie has long been a supporter of the arts, with this being its first art initiative in Australia.
