1950 BUICK ROADMASTER MODEL 76C CONVERTIBLE
Asking price: “Your price—must sell”
Seller description: “Price guide: $32,500.”
Popularity and demand for 1949 Roadmaster convertibles remains. (One of the documented movie cars set an auction world record for a ’49 Roadmaster when it sold for $335,000 at Bonhams’ 2022 Scottsdale sale.) A far more affordable alternative, at its core similar in engineering design and mechanical capacities, is the ’50 edition. Look past the grille and all the hallmarks of a luxury Buick are still present: Leather seating, ample cabin space, an unbelievably smooth suspension, minimally restricted vision, and more. While this example wasn’t concours perfect, it was nearly complete (as presented in that moment) and running, and the seller strongly suggested — refer to the scant description — that he was willing to entertain any reasonable offer, citing a below “average condition” value at the time. Can anyone say “bargain?”
