DIFFICULTY RATING
Having completed the recent starter switch replacement, an attempt was made to start the tractor. The fuel was turned on and promptly flooded out of the carburettor. I assumed that during its idle period the float had stuck down, allowing the fuel to flood. A careful tap on the float chamber brought no improvement, so the tap was immediately turned off.
CARBURETTOR STRIP
It had been some time since the carburettor had been stripped and cleaned – probably around 10 years, so I set about removing it from the engine. Both the choke and throttle linkages were disconnected, along with the fuel supply pipe from the tap.
