THE LIONS, THE WASPS AND THE WARDROBE

EVERYTHING STARTED with a motivational speech gone wrong. In the middle of a Wasps pre-match huddle, Jacob Umaga, torn between saying ‘Stay composed’ and ‘Keep your composure’, blurted out ‘Stay composure!’. “Everyone was laughing,” recalls team-mate Paolo Odogwu. “We lost focus. But ‘stay composure’ stuck.”

That team talk gaffe has evolved into a clothing range. First came Composure Club mentions on social media, then Odogwu had a couple of T-shirts printed with ‘Stay Composure’ on for a birthday and from there the pair decided to turn it into their own brand. Composure Club has grown organically, with four collections – or CZNs (seasons) as they call them – of tees, hoodies and hats launched to date, with another drop planned for later this month to coincide with the brand’s one-year anniversary.
