TRIBUTE TO JIM SARNEY

In 1985 Jim then set up ‘Amalgamated Heavy Haulage’ with the help from others and different divisions were painted on the awning sides of the engines, Jim and Lord Roberts were the ‘Southern Division,’ Len Crane and his Fowler were the ‘Midland Division,’ Richard Sandercock and his Burrell became the ‘Western Division,’ John Bush and his Garrett Vera became the ‘Cardiff & South Wales Division’ and Steve Neville and his Burrell became the ‘Eastern & European Division.’

In 1986 Jim and Len Crane purchased an ex-Pickfords dual-steer heavy haulage trailer from Jim Coombe of Aspley Guise, Bucks, it had been built by Cranes of Dereham. Now they could really show the public what the engines could haul.
