THESE critters won’t win any beauty contests. They’re not particularly big or strong, they hide during the day, are probably deaf and their eyesight isn’t great. And they haven’t changed much in the past 420 million years.
Despite all that, people are afraid of scorpions. It might be because they can hold their breath for up to six days, and can survive without food for up to a year. They can walk on practically any surface, and they glow in UV light.
