Free flow fuel
The owner (an old acquaintance) is one of those people who is very successful in finding two-wheeled bargains, but is clueless on the technical side of things and so, perhaps, might best leave vintage scooters alone on that simple basis. What he’d managed to talk someone out of this time and precisely why he’d found it necessary to ask for advice remained to be seen; so why was the old GS sitting on a trailer?
The first query was explained away as the scooter was previously part of a collection of old cars and had been sold on as being out of place. Remarkably, and after a bit of totally unnecessary horse trading, the sale price went from a cheap/reasonable £1600 to a mere £1200 – a serious bargain. Not to forget the best bit – the old girl was a runner, or so the new owner claimed.
