Riding the Dream
It had been a dream for a while, but then a few stars aligned and it became possible. Boss agreeing to a month's holiday; wife coming to the end of her work contract; a few quid in the piggy bank – we were on for a ride across the USA. I did look into buying a Harley in New York and selling in the west, but it would have added time we didn't have. So we hired a bike from Eagle Rider. The price was eye-watering but hey, it’s unlikely we’ll ever do it again.
A few months later, one wet morning in New York, we found ourselves packing luggage on to an Electra Glide. With the forecast showing the rain to continue all day we eventually succumbed to the inevitable and dressed in full waterproofs before heading out on this 4000-mile-plus adventure.
