    Holding the reins of two of her beloved Fell ponies against the backdrop of a magnolia tree in bloom, the Queen enjoys the spring sunshine in a wonderful new photo shared to mark her 96th birthday.

    Henry Dallal’s portrait was taken in the grounds of Windsor Castle last month, commissioned by the Royal Windsor Horse Show, one of the monarch’s favourite events. Both of the homebred ponies – named Bybeck Nightingale and Bybeck Katie – will appear in the show’s Platinum Jubilee Celebration: A Gallop Through History
