Our motorhome
We have owned several A-classes, all of which were more than 15 years old and were mostly used for holidays to France. We live in Jersey, so it is just a short ferry hop away.
In late 2019, we commenced our search for a suitable ’van to take us round Europe in our retirement, planned for September 2020. It needed to be reliable, left-hand drive, have a fixed bed, offer plenty of storage, be easy to drive and park and with plenty of power.
This pretty much narrowed the search down to panel van conversions. Our budget didn’t stretch to a new ’van. We eventually narrowed the search down to a Westfalia Columbus.
After a hunt on the internet, we located exactly what we wanted, but it was at a Westfalia dealer in Frankfurt, Germany. In January 2020 we travelled to Frankfurt to view. The salesman showed us around the ’van and, despite the language difficulties, we understood all the features.
