I love my veg patch but being ever nearer my 80s the thought of digging trenches for my spuds starts my back aching before I even start. I’ve done the ‘no-dig’ green manure system but was inspired to take it a stage further.

I noticed this handy gadget online and now it only takes half an hour to drill enough holes to plant a season’s worth of tubers. It also comes in handy for bulbs and even the odd fence post.
