One year after he was convicted of murdering George Floyd, former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin has filed an appeal hoping to overturn the jury's verdict and reduce his sentence.
Hennepin County Judge Peter Cahill sentenced Chauvin to 22 1/2 years in prison for the , after he was found guilty of unintentional second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.
