Vintage Butterflies

“The inspiration for this quilt was the Courthouse Steps block. I really like the way the fabric and block placement create the quilt pattern to provide a center frame for the appliqué. I wanted to feature something ‘springy,’ and to me, butterflies are the essence of spring. When I saw this fabric, I knew it would be perfect for what I had in mind. I love the red and green colors for spring and the retro feel of the fabric.”
