THE ARGUMENT FOR OAK!

THERE are those that love big oaky wines and those who hate them – I think I am safe in saying the majority of wine consumers fall into the latter category. But oak isn’t the enemy here it is how it is used. Oak ageing smoothes out a wine and balances the flavours - when it’s done well, but with inept use it can smother everything, leaving you with nothing but a mouthful of splinters!
