Chooks with looks

I can never walk past a fallen feather: its unique form and markings demand closer examination.

Feathers come in all shapes and colours and each one has a story. Some simply provide warmth; some are essential aerodynamically; others tell us about the former owner’s health.

Fabulous feathers are synonymous with the colours and markings of peafowl and pheasants, yet many of the plumage patterns displayed by fowls are also incredibly beautiful.

You could plan your fowlyard to be as colourful as a rainbow — well, almost — and you could choose for the pageantry provided by the different feather patterns.
