Hosted by the Wayland Baptist University (WBU) School of Languages & Literature, this new conference is in its sophomore season and is slated to become an annual event.

June 4, 2022. Virtual via Zoom. $25. “Join us for a day-long event perfect for beginning writers and students to connect with other writers and 50+. The keynote presentation will be delivered by award-winning author Kali White VanBaale, and workshop leaders feature WBU faculty Dr. Laura Brandenburg, Chloe Brooke, Dr. Erin Heath, Dr. Deborah Kuhlmann, Dr. Kimberlee Mendoza, Dr. Maria O’Connell, and Dr. Karen Beth Strovas. Presentations include: Short & Sweet: The Economy of Words in Flash Fiction; Breaking Form: Following or Resisting Fantasy Fiction Tropes in Writing; The End of the World as We Know It: Apocalyptic Literature and Change; Mastering the Metaphor for Poetry and Beyond; What I Wish I’d Known: Reflections on 20 Years of Writing (keynote address); Power Tools for Powerful Writing; Time Management; and Writers on Writing.
