It is widely touted that, as of 1 April 2022, energy bills will have increased for virtually every household in the UK. For many it was already happening, and not just the usual annual price rise of five or six per cent. At the time of writing it’s likely to be 54%*, increasing the average household bill by around £700 per year, potentially even more for those who use heating oil or LPG instead of mains gas.
