ASK THE EXPERTS

Q //Now Australia’s borders have reopened I’m planning a trip later this year. What do I need to know in terms of restrictions, and what makes a good second-timer’s itinerary?

To enter the country, you need to be double-vaccinated against Covid-19, unless you’re under the age of 12 or medically exempt. You’ll also need a visa — subclass e651 for most British tourists — as well as proof of vaccination and a completed Digital Passenger Declaration (DPD). The latter is similar to the Passenger Locator Form for UK arrivals and must be submitted 72 hours before you leave for Australia.
