Q Any advice for getting a hoof poultice to stay in place?

Alistair says: The biggest mistake I see is not bandaging above the heels. If the stretchy adhesive bandage, such as Vetrap, is just around the heels and not over the top of them then the poultice simply slips off. Instead, it should go to where the heels meet the pastern — however, you mustn’t bandage on to the pastern, as this may cause injury if it isn’t padded first.
