BEWARE THE WATER

A Dear John,

I feel compelled to put pen to paper to correct some misinformation in Caravan World's November issue about Rockhampton. It reads: “Rockhampton is 40km from the sea on the fertile river plains under Mount Archer and the Berserker Ranges. Yeppoon and Emu Beach might beckon for a few days if you yearn for some salty revival but beware — crocs are lurking.”

This is factually incorrect. Having grown up in Rockhampton and having spent many weekends and holidays at our beach house at Yeppoon I can assure your readers that there are no crocodiles along these lovely Capricorn Coast beaches.

I would hate to think that travellers might be dissuaded from enjoying this beautiful part of the country due to a fear that there may be crocodiles lurking!
