Cyclist: Matt, you’ve been at Shimano Australia since 1996. Which part, or product, has changed the game the most for road riders in the past three decades?

Matt Bazzano: That’s a long time – but reflecting, time has passed very quickly! Standouts are definitely STI, then Di2 – the biggest standout. More recently, disc brakes and now our STEPs (e-bike) development to adapt existing models (EP8) to road (mostly gravel) bikes.
