Located in the City of Manila, Quiapo (a) is a melting pot of cultures and religions, with a large mix of Muslim and Catholic population. Its rich history began in 1578 when the Franciscans arrived in the Philippines to establish their headquarters near the district of Sta Ana. They also founded the iconic Quiapo Church, which to date, is visited by millions of devotees every January 9 to participate in the , a massive religious procession associated with the feast of the Black Nazarene.
