BACK IN THE DAY...

The December 74 issue of Motorcycle Sport ran six pages of Letters to the Editor. There was no email, remember; they were all handwritten. Some were article-length and detailed years of life with one motorcycle model or several. One explained why Japanese crosshead screws were so difficult to remove. Two lamented the lack of waterproof outerwear.

A letter from Australia told of a Norton that quit running during a long journey and was towed home by two boys on a 750 Honda – almost 1000 kilometers!
